Rowers from various Punjab universities dominated the first edition of the National Rowing Championship under Khelo India University Games, with Kolkata University winning gold in both male and female sections. Punjab received the most silver and bronze medals, with a total of 15 events held in 2,000 meters on the third day of the championship. Newly elected mayor Manglesh Srivastava, Olympian Dalveer Singh and other dignitaries were in attendance.
