CAA aims to confer Indian citizenship to persecuted non-Muslim migrants belonging to minority communities including Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, and Christians – who migrated from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan and arrived in India before December 31, 2014.
