The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Lucknow has determined that shots were fired from a police guard’s carbine during the attack on lawyer Umesh Pal by gangster-politician Atiq Ahmed’s henchmen. However, it is still unclear who fired the shots. CCTV footage shows one assailant picking up the carbine after it was dropped by the police guard. Two colt pistols and two country-made handguns were also used in the attack, according to an earlier FSL report.
