The five-century old Mudiya Mela in Mathura, India is currently underway, attracting thousands of devotees who perform a 21-km circumambulation around Goverdhan hillock. The fair, which began on June 27, will reach its peak on July 3 and continue until July 4, with special arrangements made by local authorities. The tradition dates back to seer Sanatan Goswami and his brother Roop Goswami from Bengal, who came to Vrindavan inspired by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
