Siddhartha AK, a BBA student at Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, set a new Games record in pole vault and won the gold medal at the Khelo India University Games. He jumped 4.90m, while Kuldeep Kumar won silver with 4.80m and M Gautam won bronze with the same score. Siddhartha dedicated his medal to his family and aims to become the best pole vaulter in the country and represent India in the world meet. His personal best is 4.92m.
